CATALOGUE
EXPLANATIONS
The following catalogue contains 733 catalogue numbers, which are devided into three
sections: Vessels (Cat. nos. 1-390), Animais (Cat. nos. 391-609) and Figures (Cat.
nos. 610-733). The order foilows the numbering for the “Bimini” models as they appear
in the surviving “Bimini” catalogues and lists.
The scheme of the catalogue text comprises the consecutive catalogue numbers, a
description of the object (when extant, also the original names of the objects given in
quotation marks), the evaluation of the catalogues and lists, and the available sources
of pictorial and written material and documents.
The surviving catalogues or lists have been marked with letters, since the Contempo
rary numbering is not always present and misunderstandings should be avoided.
The oldest “Bimini” catalogue should be regarded as being “Cat. A.” “Cat. B” is equiv-
alent to the so-called “second” “Bimini” catalogue. “Cat. C” is not numbered and
should be placed after Cats. A and B in time. The tables of “Cat. B” are almost com-
pletely taken over into “Cat. C.” The “List A” is connected with the Paris Exhibition of
1925; “List B” is dated 1927, with additions up to 1929.
Lists have survived of the objects from three exhibitions (Paris 1925, London 1934 and
Rio de Janeiro 1930-31); it was possible to assign them to the corresponding cata
logue texts on the basis of the model numbers included with them.
Given under the illustrations are: the appropriate Illustration number, next to this the
catalogue number or numbers in parentheses and, when necessary, a source refe-
rence (e. g., “Bimini”-Cat. A, B and/or C). When two or more catalogue numbers stand
next to each other, the sequence is always from left to right.

The sales prices placed on objects at the time are of great interest: In List A, $ (US dol-
iars) and Austrian Schillings (S); in List B, $, S and RM (= German Reichsmark) are gi
ven. The prices listed for the exhibition in Rio de Janeiro 1930-31 make a clear dis-
tinction between “prices for retail dealers” and “exhibition prices.” The prices for the
London exhibition of 1934 consist of pounds, Shillings and pence.
According to Information from the Austrian Central Office for Statistics, (consumer
price index) S 10 in May 1925 correspond in value to S 302.21 in May of 1992.
