(342), wine decanter (302), bottle (296).
August Helzel received an appropriate letter for the consignment of glassware des-
patched in 1917:
“You have already once been kind enough to fetch samples from Frau Johanna Fied
ler and to send them to us. However, he still has all sorts of glass to decorate which
we are now in need of. We are also writing to Frau Fiedler and enclosing a list of the
objects there and pointing out to her that we have asked you to fetch the glass given
in the list and pack it up and forward it to us. We would therefore ask you kindly to
see to it that this is done. Please specify the value of the consignment as 200
crowns.”
JOSEF LENHARDT
Lenhardt executed glass with bronzite decorations for Lobmeyr from 1912 onwards.
This work became more extensive in 1914 after Fiedler had already been called up.
In this context it is interesting to note that the Austrian Museum of Applied Art is men-
tioned in connection with several of Lenhardt’s Orders, so that it is reasonable to as-
sume that the following pieces of glass were decorated by him: rummer (cat. no. 111),
flower bowl, flower vase and violet jardiniere (cat. nos. 114, 117 and 119), parts of the
variant F drinking Service (cat. nos. 50, 52 and 54), a comb dish (cat. no. 72), a jewellery
dish (cat. no. 68) and a flower vase (cat. no. 78).
