The above stones are found in the rough state
in the bed of the Ken river. Theirhigh market
value suffleiently proves their value and rarity.

Specimens of Lahore encaustic tiles.
These tiles are from old monuments, but the
colours on them are as vivid as ever. This art
connected with Mogul architecture is almost
dead, as no encouragement is now given to its
very few surviving professors.
Serpentine vases from Skardo, the rock Capital of
Little I ibet on the Indus, which is surrounded by
s * ee P glaciers and mountains where gold is said to
abound, espeeially near the Nagyr glacier.
