beads) with the 19 pieces used for playing the
game of “ Pasa.” ,

Yarkandi jade pipe stem, waistclasps, wristlets, and
anniet. Jade is only to be'got from one quarry, and
is bighly prized. It is used to make tbe buttons
and bars whicb constitute tbe distinetions of man-
darins. Jade is also made into cups,bowls, pipes,
&c. &c. The pipe stem has been sent with several
otber articles by Niaz Muhammad Akhun, the first
Yarkandi who visited Europe (in 1869, when he
was brought over by Dr. Leitner).
A lamp made at Kheora from rocksalt. The sub-
stance of which it is eomposed hardens in hot, and
softens in eold water (?).
A set of native women’s ear and nose Ornaments
made of tinsel and wood, also beads of wood (two
dozen strings), brooches, armlets, wristlets, bangles,
comb, &c.
A Bombay ivory workbox and two stamp boxes.
