The Germania National Museum at 1Yuremberg, the Bavarian National Museum
at Munich, the Grand Ducal State Industrial Hall at Karlsruhe, the Grand Ducal
Museum at Darmstadt, the Roman-Germanic Central Museum at Mayence, the
Wallraff-Richartz Museum at Coloyne (with a drawing-school), t e . usemns a
Gotha and at Stuttgart, are all, either wholly or in part, devoted to the mterests
of art-industry, and seek to advance them in various ways, by publications,
France, similar institution3 are to be found in Paris, Limoges, Lyons,
Havre, Amiens, Toulouse, and probably in other places.,
Regarding the Bussian Museums, seeunder “Bussia.”
As one of the latest creations of tliis kind, the “Hungariyn Industrial Mu
seum at Pesth ” may be mentioned, wkieh was opened April 19,1874.
It will he noticed that the above list does not embrace any of the museums
devoted only to fine-art collections proper. The Boyal Gallery at Dresden,
the National Gallery at Berlin, the Pinakotheka and the Glyptotheka at Mu
nich the several galleries at Vienna, the City Museum at Leipsic, the ga eiy
bf the Strädel-Institute at Frankfort on the Main, the gallenes at Brunswic,
Cassel, and other places, are institutions which are entirely distmct from the
